Re-Cycling
Wood has obvious advantages over other materials used in the construction
industry. It is a renewable resource, biodegradable and non-toxic. Wood is
also waste efficient and at RTD Crawford Ltd we use our waste to produce baled
shavings and briquettes.
The timber which we import is sourced from managed forests that ensure a future
supply of timber that is beneficial for both the environment and the future
of our industry. The majority of the softwoods used by us originate from Finland
where the Finnish Sawmills participate in the PEFC council which provides
an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood products that they are promoting
the sustainable management of forests.
