Hardwoods come from broad-leaved tree species and at RTD Crawford Ltd we machine hardwoods of the premier grades to add quality, character and charm to homes and commercial properties.
- Sapele: Also known as "African Mahogany" is a reddish-brown
hardwood that finishes well and is a traditional mark of quality joinery
finishes in Irish homes.
- Western Red Cedar: Sourced from North America, cedar
has exceptional resistance to moisture and decay. It has a rich grain and
texture that makes it ascetically pleasing whether used inside or outside.
This product is growing in popularity on the Irish market.
- American White Oak: Our white oak comes from the Eastern
States of the United States and comprises of a number of species from this
region. White oak is mostly straight grained with a medium to coarse texture.
White oak from RTD Crawford Ltd can be machined to a maximum depth of 19mm
and is currently being used by discerning house owners and developers as
the premier choice of hardwood skirting and architraves.
- Southern Yellow Pine: Sometimes called Clear Pine, Southern Yellow Pine appeals to customers who require a knot free finish. A pale timber with a strong yellow colour and a brown grain. It is used as skirting, architrave and sheeting to complement doors and furniture throughout an interior.
